What: The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, invites applications from Indian nationals for its fellowships in Research and Development:

~ Pitamber Pant National Environmental Fellowship for 2006: The fellowship is in recognition of significant research and development contributions in the field of Environmental Sciences.

~ B P Pal National Environment Fellowship for Biodiversity for 2006: The fellowship is in recognition of significant research and development contributions in the field of Biodiversity.

Details

~ The fellowship will be for a period of two years.

~ You will receive an award of Rs 26,000 per month, plus allowances.

~ The fellowship amount is tax-free as per the existing income tax rules/ guidelines during the period of fellowship.

~ There will be a contingency grant of Rs 1,00,000 per annum.

~ You will also be entitled to engage one Research Associate as per existing rules.

Are you eligible?

~ You must be less than 55 years old.

~ Your application must be supported by at least two Fellows of the National Academy of Science/ Engineering/ Agriculture.

Important date

~ Last date for receipt of nominations is March 31.

How to apply

~ The nominations should be sent in the prescribed proforma.

~ The prescribed proforma and further details can be obtained from the Information Facilitation Centre of the Ministry.

~ The proforma can also be obtained by visiting http://envfor.nic.in.
