Children's NGO looking for volunteers

What: Delhi Education Initiative, an NGO working in the field of education for underprivileged children, invites volunteers to work with them organising summer camps for youngsters.

Eligibility:

~ No specific qualifications are required. Anybody who wants to work for a community cause with dedication is welcome. However, the NGO would prefer volunteers who can organise extra-curricular activities for the children, help them read, and teach them some basic arithmetic.

Details:

~ The summer camps will be held in buildings of municipal schools or places where the NGO has presence. This includes areas in West Delhi, North Delhi and the Trans-Yamuna region. A

~ The summer camps will start on the 11 May 2007, and run through the month of June. All classes will run between 8 am and 11 am, Monday through Saturday. Every school building will have 4-5 classes running at a time.

~ No stipend is being offered, but a certificate of appreciation will be presented to all volunteers.

~ To obtain a brief regarding the program, send an email to infodelhi@pratham.org. Registration on or before May 7 is preferred, but there is no deadline to sign up.
