What: The Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata invites applications for admission to the three-year postgraduate diploma course (full-time) for the session 2008-2011 in the following specialisations:

~ Direction & Screenplay Writing
~ Cinematography
~ Editing
~ Audiography

Eligibility
1. Direction & Screenplay Writing

3. Editing

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline from recognised University or equivalent.

4. Audiography: Graduate from a recognised University in any stream. Physics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary level (ie 10+2 level)

Medium of instruction: English

Total number of seats: 40 (10 per discipline out of which 2 seats are earmarked for foreign students).

Reservation for SC/ST candidates as per extant GOI Rules.
Provision for persons with disabilities as per extant GOI Rules.

Admission test
~ The admission test will comprise a written examination to be held at different centres, followed by an interactive orientation test and viva-voce for the shortlisted candidates only to be held at the Institute.

~ The written examination will be held on August 3, 2008 (Sunday) in the following centers:

1) Kolkata. 2) New Delhi 3) Mumbai 4) Chennai 5) Guwahati 6) Patna 7) Agartala 8) Lucknow 9) Ranchi 10) Port Blair 11) Bangaluru 12) Bhopal 13) Bhubaneshwar 14) Thiruvananthapuram 15) Hyderabad 16) Imphal 17) Raipur

NB: Centre(s) may be clubbed for administrative reasons.

How to apply
~ Prospectus containing Application Forms and other details may be obtained by post on written request, accompanied by a processing fee by Crossed Demand Draft of Rs 1,200/- (Rs 700/- for SC/ST candidates on submission of valid certificate) in favour of "Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata" payable at Kolkata.

~ Application Forms can be downloaded from the website www.srfti.gov.in and submitted in print copy along with due processing fee in Demand Draft.

~ Last date for receipt of request for prospectus by post is June 21, 2008.

~ The Prospectus may also be obtained personally from the Institute on any working day between 11 am-4 pm until June 28, 2008 against due payment of processing fee in Demand Draft or cash.

~ Last date for receipt of completed Application Form at SRFTI is July 11, 2008
