James: A sex and violence flick?

What is James all about?

Two words: Mohit Ahlawat.

Ram Gopal Varma has never been as excited about any of his finds as this stubble-sporting bundle of biceps. In fact, Mohit will play Amitabh Bachchan's [Images] Jai in Ramu's remake of Sholay [Images].

"For the first time," the director proclaims, "I have built a film (James) around an actor. He has the best screen presence I have ever seen!"

Which means the film, directed by Rohit Jugraj, is a showcase for the debutant actor.

From the promos, the film looks like an unashamed sex (did we mention Nisha Kothari [Images], seen in a bit role in Sarkar, plays the hottie here?) and violence flick.

Ramu doesn't deny it. When asked if the film is like a latter-day Shiva, he agrees, but says it's minus the Nagarjuna film's political overtones.

Which leaves us with a lot of hardcore masala.

James hits theatres on August 19.
