Even as you read this, the year's most anticipated Hollywood release premiered in Tokyo on Monday, April 17.
Spider-Man 3, made for an estimated $300 million, sees Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst reprising their respective roles as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.
Director Sam Raimi has reportedly confirmed further sequels -- understandable since parts 1 and 2 grossed an unbelievable $1.6 billion worldwide -- but Tobey might be drawing the line on more webslinging after this one.
The Tokyo premiere was held in rain for a lucky Japanese audience, who get to see the film well in advance of the rest of the us. Spider-Man 3 opens for general realease in Japan on May 1, 3 days ahead of the worldwide release on May 4.
