Eminent filmmaker Shyam Benegal [Images] participated as chief guest at the Centre for Media Studies Academy-Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Awards 2007 presentation ceremony in Hyderabad on Sunday.

This is the first time in India that news bulletins/channels will be assessed for professional awards.

Benegal has made 22 films and won 46 awards in India and abroad.

His new film, Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur, starring Shreyas Talpade [Images], Ravi Kissan and Amrita Rao [Images], will be out this year.
